Position Summary
The Senior Application Engineer will be assigned as a technical resource on various document imaging projects of increasing responsibility as well as performing support duties, and establishment and management of target dates.  This person will perform OnBase Installer (build & configuration), WorkFlow, and OnBase system administration responsibilities as required.  This person must also have a good understanding of and experience in administering Microsoft servers, client O/S, and client software deployments. The Senior Application Engineer will attend key IT&S, business owner, project, and vendor meetings, and represent the Imaging Services team’s interests and responsibilities as necessary. The Senior Appplication Engineer builds strong relationships within and outside department, including business owners, and understands the entire content management / document imaging solution, integration points, and how the pieces fit together in a big picture. The Senior Application Engineer will often be involved in multiple activities, and must be able to manage multiple, concurrent project and operational support assignments.  The Senior Application Engineer will develop an elevated level of subject matter expertise in one or more line of business solutions and/or technologies supporting those solutions.

Primary Duties
65% - Projects
  • Serve as the OnBase technical lead on small, medium, and some large-scale implementation projects involving multiple departments
  • Understand and interpret customer requirements. Design and implement document imaging and enterprise content management solutions to fit those requirements.
  • Enhance existing OnBase solutions as prioritized and per customer requirements
  • Design and implement inbound and outbound document interfaces as requested and prioritized.  Interfaces may utilize batch, HL-7 or other import/export methodologies.
  • Establish and meet target dates.  While not responsible for entire project plan, responsible for creating own tasks within a project plan
  • Actively participate in project team meetings as required.  Assume ownership of action items and assigned tasks.
  • Perform requisite testing of new solutions, integrations and enhancements in non-production environments as necessary.
  • Expected to multitask effectively while assigned to multiple concurrent projects
  • Create and publish support documentation and provide cross-training to team members
  • Train and mentor new and junior team members as required.
35% - Operational Support
  • Perform operational support responsibilities for break/fix incidents for OnBase solutions across the enterprise as needed, and according to internal service level agreement target response times for incident resolution
  • Perform routine system administration tasks across all supported solutions across the enterprise
  • Identify root cause, and implement permanent corrective actions as required for systemic, persistent, and/or repeatable incidents
  • Resolve moderate and complex on-call support issues without assistance
  • Identify, design and implement improved and enhanced monitoring and alerting capabilities as needed
  • Initiate, design and implement automated system administration and routine tasks as needed
  • Adhere to internal change management guidelines and standard
  • Participate in the team’s 24/7 on-call support rotation.

Education and Experience
  • High School Graduate  - college degree  preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS 
  • One or more Hyland OnBase certifications are strongly preferred (OnBase Ver. 13 or higher) such as:
          - OnBase Certified System Administrator (OCSA)
          - OnBase Certified Advanced System Administrator (OCASA)
          - OnBase Certified Installer (OCI)
          - OnBase Certified WorkFlow Administrator (OCWA)
          - OnBase Certified WorkFlow Engineer (OCWE)
  • Certified Document Imaging Architect (CDIA+) Certification is desired
  • Certified Information Professional (CIP) or Enterprise Content Management Practitioner (ECMp) certification is desired
  • Experience supporting Open Text RightFax or similar enterprise faxing solution is desired
  • Microsoft server system administration (MSCE certification) is desired
  • Microsoft client O/S and browser support experience is required
  • Experience with remote server and application support tools & techniques is required (Remote Desktop, WebEx, GoTo Meeting, etc….)
  • Experience with enterprise-class storage subsystem architectures and configuration is preferred
  • Client hardware capture device (scanners, tablets, input and other capture devices) experience is preferred
  • Experience with VB scripting and development is desired
  • Experience with SQL Server query development is desired
  • Strong knowledge of personal computer systems and Microsoft Office (or other similar productivity applications to support e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheet applications)
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of staff and senior management
  • Strong analytical background
  • Proven system administration and application support experience with enterprise-class software solutions, preferably with top-tier Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions is desired
